Solved! Connecting tv speakers to a computer

i have old speakers that my dad doesnt use anymore and was wondering if i could use them on my computer. the speakers dont use aux and only use speaker wire.

would i need to buy a hifi or something like that.

Need to get specs on your speakers.

The cheapest scenario is that the spec-ed impedance is within tolerance, and you just need to splice some cabling and make an adapter to 3.5 trs audio connector. The likelihood of this probably as less than 5% odds though.

Chances are you will need an amplifier/receiver of some sort, and then connect to the computer with any number of other options.
