Connecting wired speakers to tv

Hi guys,

I have a pair of S-X540 pioneer speakers that I wish to connect to a Samsung 7 series tv (model code UE49KS7000).

The technologies are worlds apart but I wish to reunite the two so that I can enjoy sound through these speakers.

Can anyone advice what I need or how to connect the two?

These seem to be plain, non-powered speakers, You'll need a stereo amplifier capable of driving them (8 Ohms, 100Watts or more), or a receiver, to connect them to your tv/laptop/phone.

You will also have to match the audio output of the TV (optical or 3.5mm) with the amplifier (optical to optical, or 3.5mm to 3.5mm or RCA)
