My laptop I have been using for the past 4 years is no longer cutting and becoming more of a hassle than anything. I am now on the lookout for a new laptop and would appreciate some input/help if possible.

1. What is your budget?

$400-$500

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

15.6"

3. What screen resolution do you want?

Does not really matter for me. 1366 x 768 is probably fine.

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

I do not necessarily need that, but it would be nice.

5. How much battery life do you need?

Not too big of an issue. It will probably be plugged in most of the time. Around 2-3 hours would be sufficient.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

Will most likely not play games on this laptop. If I did it would be either WoW or SC2.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, watching movies, Etc.)

Watching movies, coding, browsing the internet and word processing.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

250-320gb+ would be plenty.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

I have been looking at newegg and tigerdirect, however I am open to other sites if they have a rather good reputation.

Here are a couple models I have been looking at:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220866

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7301627&CatId=4938

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?

Probably around 2 years.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

DVD Rom/Writer would be nice.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

Only previously owned a Dell laptop. However, I am interested in Asus and Lenovo, because they seem to make well made laptops from using my friend's laptops.

13. What country do you live in?

US

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do u think about this Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 15.6" Core i3 Notebook $449.00?

Not bad stuff. It might meet your needs well. Hope u find the best bet. Good luck.

The computer looks alright, however the other laptops I posted above seem to have better specs in respect to hard drive, proc, memory and video. Would there be a reason to choose that lenovo over those other two? Also, I have had no experience with http://www.abesofmaine.com/ and would have to research their company before purchasing.
