Console or Laptop

i have a 5 year old laptop

intel i5 m460 2.53ghz
ATI radeon 512mb
8gb ram
320gb HDD

i want to buy a console for gaming i use laptop only for watching youtube and surf the web

If money is no problem than a gaming laptop is the better choice, much more flexible and more powerful than any console, and not bound to any console only software/games and/or controllers. But a good gaming laptop is expensive.

A console you get relatively cheap, but the games are usually expensive, and stay expensive for a longer time. In general PC games are (much) cheaper.
