Solved! Converting HDMI Output to Optical DVD input

I have an old Yamaha surround sound receiver (RX-V1) that doesn't have HDMI inputs. Is there a converter that can take HDMI output from a DVD player and convert it to an optical DVD input on the receiver? I don't want to lose audio fidelity if possible! Maybe it's time for a new receiver, but I'm not there yet. Thanks! Dean

If your TV has an optical audio output then just use that.
You can get an HDMI audio extractor or HDMI input selector with audio extractor.
