Solved! Coolpix L840 focus

My L840 has stopped giving clear images. eg; If I take a photo of two or more people and one of the subjects moves they become very blurred. I have tried to reset the camera but the focus quality varies for each photo. I normally jjust use the auto setting and the photo's are excellent. What setting should the AF be set on for general photo's?
