my uncle is giving me his old laptop for free and i was planning to do some upgrades on it like ram and ssd and the processor but am having trouble finding out which processors are compatible with this laptop

it is a hp 2000-299wm
it has a Intel celeron dual core t3500

i already have a custom gaming pc that i built but i need this laptop to play games at my friends houses and stuff it runs games like WoW really good but could be better so pls help
(no hard core games just simple games)
i mainly need a processor upgrade to play minectaft because its a little laggy and i know minecraft is very cpu intensive so an upgrade would help

Solution
The socket on the motherboard will dictate what cpu to install. In this case the socket of the cpu you already have is PGA478 .
So any cpu with that socket should do fine .

Mobile processors are not sold retail.

Your laptop processor may be soldered to the motherboard. If that's the case, sorry, it can't be replaced.

Upgrading RAM, you will have to check the type of memory stick that is already used inside. There may be one or two memory slots. You will have to replace the stick with a higher capacity one of the same type, form factor and operating voltage.

I'm too lazy to go into Jesus mode to find out what's in your laptop or suggest replacement parts.

Good luck!
