I'm running Yosemite on a Macbook Pro 15" (early 2011) and I would like to put a Crucial M500 960GB SSD in its optical bay using the OWC Data Doubler.
The drive currently sits in a Firewire 800 external enclosure.
I already have a SSD in the main bay of the laptop.
I understand the SATA issues with the Macbook Pro optical bay, but since the Crucial is 3Gb/s compatible, could I still put it in the laptop as a second drive and achieve better performance than it being in a FW 800 enclosure?
