The user's manual (as poorly written as it is) lists "EPG (Electronic
Program Guide)- 7 days" as one of its features. And the screen shot
on page 28 shows times and program listings for channels. My Pansat
2500A shows NOTHING under times and program listings, just the channels.

Does anyone else's Pansat 2500A show times and program listings for
channels, when using the EPG?

Should I download the latest bin from the Pansat ws and flash my
receiver (to correct this problem)?

Also, the lettering is wearing off of the keys on the remote. Anyone
have a suggestion for solving this problem?

the epg doesn't work on mine either. i would hazard to guess that no one is
sending the info to the receiver over the satellite. you may see it on some
rare stations, i believe i saw it on one of the arabic stations on T7 once.

Bingo! We have a winner!

It's not a matter of the receiver not providing the info.
Rather, the receiver isn't receiving the info (at least not
in any standard form), and therefore can't show it.

Are there any stations in NA that even use it,because I haven't come across
any so far and yet according the Tele satellite magazine it's used quite
extensively in Europe!

I've seen schedules on educational channels, but not on commercial channels. It
costs money to maintain and post these schedules, and since fta generates no
revenue, nobody is going to take the time ... maybe that will change, I doubt
it.

EPG are a waste in all MPEG2 FTA receivers. Forget it. As for your
remote, use a clear nail polish on them to retard further fading.
