Hey everybody, I could use some help deciding between a couple laptops. I am going to be using it mainly for browsing the web, by that I mean leaving a good couple dozen tabs open, multiple videos and streams. I also plan on using a keyboard with a DAW, namely Ableton Live 9. I am looking to spend in the ballpark of 500, I am a college student so dont have a ton to spare.

My criteria are

an SSD since they are great,
1080 screen, I look at lots of pictures and videos, so well worth it
Good battery
Hopefully a good processor and a dedicated GPU might be a nice bonus for light gaming

Here are the couple I am choosing between.

Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-53VG
Intel Core i5,
NVIDIA 940MX,
8GB DDR4,
256GB SSD

I am leaning towards this one because it has a good size SSD, long battery life, and a backlit keyboard.

ASUS X555DA-AS11
AMD 1.8 GHz A10-8700P
8 GB DDR3

This one is cheaper and has an AMD with 4 cores, which might make multitasking a bit easier.
No backlit keyboard, and slower clock (1.8 vs 2.3 GHz), and DDR3 instead of DDR4

and AMD Radeon R6 Series integrated on the ASUS vs NVIDIA940MX on the Acer.

Let me know what might be the better deal, thank you and have a happy holiday!

The acer one. The DGPU makes all the diffrence while you can switch it off for battery life. The core i5 6200U has hyperthreading (basiccly has 4 cores) and turbo boost (up to 2.8ghz) from 2.3. A backlit keyboard is amazing too. Good luck!
