deleted pics by mistake

I have a C180 w card. Is there a way to retrieve them or are they gone forever-sick about it. Grandkids whole life

While recuva is a great program you need to pull the card and put it in a card reader in a pc if you want to recover direct
from the camera while it is plugged into your pc Picajet Photo Recovery is easy to use.

Once you recover them, or start anew, you really really need to regularly back them up on another device (PC hard drive, external hard drive, skydrive, etc).

If you can't recover them but shared them with other people, you can have those folks send them back to you and at least have something.

Never, ever leave the pics on the card that long. SD cards, while stable, are not as stable as your pc. Far too easy to accidentally delete, or the card goes bad, gets lost, or any of a number of other things.

Just looking at all the questions in this forum, the vast majority are something to do with the SD card. How to get back accidentally deleted/formatted pics, or from a now broken card...

On a regular basis, d/l to the PC, create a backup in another location, and then wipe the card.
