Dell 1530m memory upgrade

I have this old laptop and it really needs a memory upgrade ( now it has 2gb)

I was thinking to upgrade it to 4gb or 8gb. What kind of ram do you recoomend?

The original one are sodimm ddr2 667 but i found that the new ones with dd3 and 1600 mhz are cheaper

No, you can't stick DDR3 RAM in there. If what you are currently using is DDR2, then your laptop likely only supports DDR2. They are not cross compatible, unfortunately.

And ddr2 with diferent speed? my motherboard is for 667 i think and i view ddr at 800 mhz

If the manual for your motherboard only lists up to 667, it's generally not a good idea to go above that. Best case scenario, it just won't work, but worst case scenario, you might fry everything.
