Solved! Dell 5577 Laptop WiFi Speed

I recently got a new Dell 5577 Laptop. I love it so far and most things with it work great. The only thing that seems to be driving me nuts is the speed of the WiFi. I test thru speedtest.net and the speed test app on my phone.

So my question is, what could I do to try to make my laptop WiFi speed faster or as fast as my cell phone speed? I have already tried making sure to update my drivers and there were other forums saying to uninstall a program called SmartByte, which I also did. I've also tried using the Support Assist program that came with the computer to optimize the internet setting. I am open to any other ideas. Thank you for your help.

Maybe your phone is connected to the 5G band and your laptop to the 2.4G band?

The laptop could not have the ability to reach higher speeds. That isn't the best testing site. I would try testing through https/testmy.net/. Way more accurate.

In addition, how many devices and where they are in relation to the modem/router will effect this as well.
