Hello, I just replaced the power jack on my laptop and after reassembly i hear the drives start but get two beeps and no screen or startup. I know the beeps mean no Ram detected so I took it back apart to assure both cards were seated properly. There is a 4gb card in one slot and a 2gb card in the other. Still no luck.

I suppose it's possible ESD got the cards although I was careful to ground myself before disassembly. My questions are, Would I get the two beeps if only one card went bad? I checked all other connections but is it possible something else is wrong?

You can check if either of the RAM slots and/or RAM sticks are bad by trying the system with one at a time. Since you took it apart to replace the jack there could have been some other damage done to the motherboard during the work.

Thank you. Later last night I tried just that and lastly ran to best buy real quick before they closed for a new stick. No change. I'm afraid I may have overtightened the heat sink over the processor. At this point that is all that would make sense.
