Dell inspiron 1545 sinple questions?

So I bought the inspiron 1545 it came with 320gb 2.10gh 4gb ram , I record with hd pvr 2 and know my way around Sony Vegas 12 very well, I think this might be to slow for these. I want to upgrade to 8gb ram, 2.667gh and maybe a 500gb HDD , I think this is a good idea, but any suggestions for better views?

Check your motherboard and BIOS manuals online, see if they are compatible with whatever CPU you are thinking of getting. BIOS revisions often list any new CPU compatibility they add. 8 gig of RAM should work, you will also need a 64 bit operating system to use 8 gig of RAM. For a drive upgrade, get a 7200 rpm drive or a SSD (SSD will be a lot smaller but also a lot faster).
