I have bought a new Dell Inspiron 3531 laptop, but i have an issue with the laptop battery, it says 0% available (plugged in, charging). Do i need a knew battery or what, i tried the device manager solution that i read on other forums but it doesn't work. HELP, thank you.

Solution
If it's stuck at 0% for hours, most likely you just have a dead battery. Dell batteries tend to last a hell of a long time (I had a XPS12 that lasted for 8 years before crapping out), but every once in a while they have horrible ones too (same XPS12 system had another battery that lasted 18mo before dying)

Also the laptop cant run videos smoothly, can it be because of the battery or is it something else, as i said the laptop hasnt been used for a half a year but it is brand new.

It's a Intel Celeron N2830 based system, absolute garbage equivalent to a low end desktop from 2008. Replacement is the only real option if MPC-HC doesn't play smoothly or you need web based video.
