Question Dell U3011 sound problem in component mode

I have a U3011 Dell Monitor that was given to me. Because it did not come with integrated speakers, I bought a ONA18HO020 soundbar. It works great. (at the time, I was unaware that Dell offered a soundbar extra for this particular monitor)

I'm using it as a TV with Spectrum cable. Sound is perfect. Picture is amazing.

My issue, that I desperately need help with, is that when I hooked up a Sony DVD player, model DVP-SR101P using a component Video Cable, I get video, but no sound from my soundbar.
(I hooked the cable between the two devices according to color. Blue to blue, red to red and green to green)

Whenever I flip back to HDMI-1 in input source on the monitor, sound is back.

I'm now in my 3rd hour of trying everything I can think of to get sound when input source component is selected.
What am I doing wrong?
Should I buy the Dell soundbar AX510? Will that fix this issue?

So you have the audio cables connected directly to the sound bar? Are you changing the soundbar inputs? The input on the monitor does not have anything to do with the input source on the soundbar.
