Over the last year the machine has developed an issue which I believe is
to do with a worn power button, The button no longer clicks on a depress (if feels flat with no springback), A hard press and the machine fires up the fans for 2 seconds and turns off.
A soft quick press in the centre of the button and the machine boots as normal into Dell
LOGO after about 6 seconds and then into windows. The power power button also no longer
lights up, i cannot find out what the part number is, dell are useless as it out of waranty.
i wonder if its something more then just the power button, iv repaired many laptops but
as iv mentioned i cannot find the part number ?
