Hi , I recently bought a pair of passive speakers and I had them plugged into my tv just for break in purposes .

I accidentally unplugged the source while the speakers were on the tv was off and no sound was coming out of the speakers.

When I have done it the volume on my amp was not set up loud at all but the speakers made a static noise.

I am worried if this could have demadged my speakers and was testing them out but can not tell if they sound any different or not as they are very new.

Solution

Its normal try plugging in a pair of headphones in while moving the plug. You will hear some noise
