Connect the device to the internet again, either make sure your data service is turned on and active or connect to the wifi signal again.

Sorry about my short original post.
I have a samsung tablet 8.9.
I have connected to the internet, several times. It shows as connected under the wifi tab in settings.
But I only get a gray triangle in the bottom right corner.
Is it possible some software or something is missing from my device that it needs?

After a factory reset, nothing should be missing. You just need to trouble shoot the connection issue, Check your Router and make sure that it shows your device connected properly, maybe reboot the router and device, delete and re-connect the WiFi connection, try it from a public WiFi in a coffee shop or somewhere.
