What is the difference between double core and core2?

Don't know any CPU that is marked as "double core", you may want to provide some specific details about what you are trying to compare. Intel has a few Core 2 CPU ranges, one is a Core 2 Duo which is dual core, and a Core 2 Quad which is quad core. And a lot of speed ranges in both those things.
