That depends on the projector.
In most cases LCD would be preferred but it does depend on the individual model and price range. If you needed a pseudo 4k projectors then the DLP models are cheaper than the LCD equivalents.
Most DLP projectors have a single DLP chip and so they need a color wheel. Most LCD projectors use three LCD panels so you avoid that complication. LCD projectors also tend to have greater color brightness because of this.
