Solved! Download the sims on my ideapadS130

Solution
Go to Settings, System, Storage; enable "Storage Sense", and click on "Change where new content is saved". From there, move everything to your USB stick (and make sure it's fast and small so you don't yank it off the laptop).

This is why you don't have enough space almost all of that space is being taken by windows, so there is not enough left for the game.

I've bought a memory stick but am unsure how to use it to help with the problem. Have no idea what to do with it

I've bought a usb stick but to be honest I've no idea what to do with it. Is there any way I could increase the memory with a usb stick

You could try and install it to the usb drive(if the game allows it), but it will likely run poorly as it will be rather slow.

Since it's new you may want to think about returning the laptop and getting one with larger storage.
