Dropping a SSD in a MSI Apache Pro GE70 ?

It appears its possible to add an SSD to my new laptop and its somthing I may do in the future. Just wondering if its simple to do by myself and what kind of benefit I may get from it.
 
i am not sure how easy it is to upgrade on that particular model of the MSI. in genearl it should not be hard for a beginner on most MSI laptops. SSD's are great: in short faster boot,load times, better battery life, less freezing during multitasking, runs cooler, runs quieter, etc.

nono, that is for a usb to 2.5" SATA drive. You are going to want something like this enclosure:

which supports mSATA SSD drives, as that is what hte available slot is in the apache GE70.
I recommend this samsung evo mSATA SSD drive to go along with the enclosure. The enclosure is needed to clone your OS through external USB. Your computer will detect the drive if simply put in, however this is the easiest method. Plus the enclosure is pretty cool and useful should you decide to get another mSATA drive.
