Dual channelling ram or SSD for gaming?

I have an acer nitro 5 laptop which I bought recently and some games stutter, specially Arkham Knight is causing huge fps drops.I don't have an ssd in my laptop and I would like to know if installing an ssd or dual channelling ram into 16GB will improve the smoothness in gaming.

My specs are,
i5-8300H
Gtx 1060 6GB
8GB ddr4 2667 MHz
ITB HDD

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your Nvidia drivers? Can you parse on the make and model of your laptop? An SKU to your laptop would help us two fold. I would go for a 2x8GB ram kit and an SSD so you don't have to open up the laptop multiple times.

Thank you for replying. my laptop model is Nitro AN515-52. Yes I have tried reinstalling Nvidia drivers
