Is AMD planning on producing dual core AMD chips for laptops? If so when do they plan on shipping these chips?

Mech is right but if you want the desktop cpu in a notebook now look at the Sager 9750 or any of the clevo resellers like Hppersonic fx7, Alienware or Pro Star.

Oh yeah huh...forgot that Athlon 64 X2 are in some laptops as well, such as Alienware, RawpowerPC, and CyberPC. But I wouldn't get those unless you want serious gaming and won't be lugging it around too often lol.
Thx for bringing that up Semi75 :p

Yea, no kidding. The desktop X2 dual cores are about 4 inches thick and look pretty goofy, I can't wait for the Turion X2's.

I hope that article that giper54 posted is right in that there will be a CPU price war. AMD holds the pricing line on their high end CPU's pretty tight. In the last 4 months the MT-40 has come down like maybe 10 bucks. We probably aren't going to see a "reasonable" price as soon as it comes out when everyone is scrambing to get their hands on one. I hope I'm wrong.
