Earphones Only Work When Twisted

My earphone only work when I twist it it's not my phone or my laptop it's the earphones I left them in my jacket pocket and my sister came to get the washing found my jacket assumed it was dirty (It wasn't) and put it in the wash

sounds like you have a broken wire. just replace the headphones.
