Currently trying to throttle down a noisy fan on the rig, and unfortunately my GA-970A-D3 does not come with a fancy UEFI like all these new models now. So apparently I cannot adjust fan speed through the bios according to the manual, and easy tune doesn't seem to be responding to my changes. I also had some issues with speedfan, not being able to control anything. Some 120mm's are connect to a 3 pin and others a four pin header, but neither seem to be responding. In fact the only fan that was affected was the CPU fan when I fiddled on the smart tab. Am I missing something in the bios or software? Im a bit stumped. All help is appreciated.

You are better off buying a cheap controller fan like i did.I hate speed fan be cause it is too much of a pain too setup.

I paid 22 dollars for this---->>http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998100

Works well with my high speed fans that run 5,200 rpms http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835213001

And if your fan is noisy i bet it might have dirt or dust in case might want to make a good clean sweep with an air can or air compressor.

Nice idea, Ive thought about a controller for a while after seeing some clean builds with them. And I usually open it up once a month to do a thorough dusting, although the ones in question are sealed bearing. Do those come with cable extensions for your fans? Id like to keep all my wires routed back and tucked away.

If you are using the normal fans that come with the case then i would go ahead and buy some after market coolers.

These where more expensive items when i bought them.

I keep these below one as my intake and one as my outtake fan.Keeps my whole system under 90F easy.
Delta AFB1212GHE-CF00 120mm Case cooler

I put these 80mm fans on my side panel and my aftermarket heat sink.One takes the heat from the ram and blows threw the cpu cooler.My ram rarely gets hot.These fans below push a lot of air and are very quiet.I can not even hear them.
bgears b-Blaster 80 80mm Case Fan

And this speed fan controller controls all fans but the cpu fan that is in the 3 pin slot so that it does not make the beeping noise when system turns on.

These fans keep my desktop really cooled down.Better then that water crap that is too risky.I had these fans running for over 2 years now with out a hitch.The only problem with the delta fans is that they will suck in more dust.It is best to buy Air filters for the front panel with these fans.And keep cleaning out your case once in a while.

And when you said your one fan is spinning too loud mainly means three things.It is too hot,Or too much dust,Or going to fail at any moment.
