Question EGPU without graphics card?

Can I just use a egpu without a graphics card inside through thunderbolt? I want to buy a graphics card later but get the egpu as a dock for now.

I'm looking at getting a razer core x chroma. But technically it would work right as just a E? 🤔 🤔

Maybe, but what is the point of doing so? You only get a couple USB ports and gig-ethernet otherwise.

Ive got a MSI prestige 15 laptop but im getting the MSI GS66 when it comes out.

Basically im looking to get a dock that can i can have a single cable to my laptop to unplug and go. But the docks that support everything like charging, ethernet, and USB i want are 250-300 bucks. My future plans were to get an eGPU in a year or so but im thinking i just get the eGPU now and use it for the purpouse i want as a dock for my peripherals and then in a bit when i can get more money i can get a full graphics card to put inside.

Personally, I think you should save your money to buy a complete capability when you can afford it. New tech, better solutions could come along between now and then.

Just something to consider.

Yea honestly im looking at getting a desktop now before my preorder processes so might not even do the eGPU.
