Question Elitebook 840: Not Starting after shutdown.

Hello,
I have an Elitebook 840 laptop. and I am having problems restarting it after a shutdown. Here is what happens:

1. On pressing the power button, the keyboard backlight, speaker and Wifi keys light up. But the screen remains blank.
2. There is no blinking of the Caps Lock light or any other lights.
3. I am able to get it to start by removing the power supply and performing a hard reset. I need to do the hard reset 3-5 times for it to startup normally.

This is a recurring problem and keeps showing up every once in a while.

What should my next steps be? Is this an issue with power supply/battery or could it be from other peripherals in the system?

Most likely thing is a failing motherboard. Did you check any hardware already? Reseat RAM and drive at least?
