The remote for my orum rohn r509 isn't working. I'm not sure if it needs to be programmed or if I need a new remote.

Did you contact support for your device? Is there anything in the manual about programming the remote?

Or your remote needs new batteries.

Switch your smart phone to take a photo, and point the remote toward the camera. Press a button. If your remote is functional, you'll see a bright spot.
