Baking your phone isn't such a good idea as that could cause some damage itself. Best way is to remove the battery asap if your phone is dropped in water, no second spared is enough. Then you want to completely submerge the phone in alcohol. This will help displace the water inside, water which could otherwise cause rust and kill your phone very quickly. After some time soaking, let your phone naturally air dry for a day or so. Before putting it all back together, ensure all components are completely dry. Once this is all done your phone should be ok. This will work damn near everytime.

You actually don't have to put the phone in the oven. That seems a bit extreme. I have gone swiming with a motorola razr v2 twice and both time I was in the pool for at least 10 minutes before realizing it was still in my pocket. I simply pulled the battery and sim card out and let it dry for two days. The phone worked perfectly until I finally beat the crap out of it enough for it to start saying it was December 31 1969. But it only does that on rare occasions and its funny to see my friends faces when it does. Anyway, baking the phone is unneeded. Just strip it and put it next to a fan for a couple days. Whatever you do don't press any buttons while its while its wet. That's what ruins the phone.
