Question external device to transfer video

I order 17 pro max 256 gb and now I am wondering if i should go to 512 gb or use external memory device while recording?
I don't take many videos but I like taking photos.
What is your opinion and which external memory if you use one?

I wouldn't worry too much about the memory for recording unless you do a great deal of it. You get 5GB of free storage with an iCloud account (https://support.apple.com/en-us/108922).

If you need more physical storage, keep in mind the need to carry it and power it. That will impact your iPhone's performance and usability, depending on the solution implemented.

There are lots of options if you decide you really need the additional storage.
