Factory set my laptop

I factory reset my acer laptop and it will not let me use the internet. When I type a address in it does do anything it just sits there

IS that when you're using a wi-fi conenction? Are you able to try an ethernet cable to see if you get the same result? In Control Panel>Device Manager, are there any red crosses beside any network related entry?
