Failed BIOS Update

I have an HP Pavilion desktop PC. Yesterday I got a message from HP stating that the BIOS should be updated. I followed all the instructions including performing a restart but now the PC does not work at all. Is there any way to recover from this? thanks in advance.

Having looked on another forum, I followed the simplest solution offered - take the battery out of the motherboard for 10 mins - and it worked! Shall not be trying to update the BIOS again.

Did they say why the bios should be updated? You should tell them of the problem you had.
