Hey all

I've searched for my specific issue, but haven't found anything. I'd appreciate some guidance in getting my surround system up and running correctly please?

I have a Logitech z906, with a Sound Blaster Audigy FX. I'm using Windows 10. Since upgrading to a new computer (and getting the sound card as the motherboard doesn't support 5.1 - the motherboard is an Asus Predator G3-710) I've been unable to get 5.1 working correctly. All the speakers work, but I'm having the following issues. I am connecting via 3.5mm jacks, and yes it's all plugged in correctly!

1. In both the Playback Devices and the Sound Blaster Control Panel tests, only the front speakers will be played. The rear & subwoofer will play nothing. Both are set for 5.1 output
2. If I run a 5.1 test video in youtube, the front and center will play. The rear will play as well, but will be duplicated through all 5 speakers. The sub will not play
3. If I run a bass test, or a non specific 5.1 test, the subwoofer does work, as do all of the other speakers

It's possible that the speakers are all working as intended, but I do not know why the bundled software or windows 10 does not work, plus I cannot find a file to test it properly with!

I've uninstalled / reinstalled. I've factory reset my Z906. This hasn't helped

Has anyone had a similar issue? It's incredibly frustrating so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have the same problem with that same sound card.

I found that if I reset the computer the sound stops working.

Temporary solution I have found is power down the pc and remove the sound card. Boot up the pc to the desktop. Shutdown the pc again. Reinstall the sound card and boot up again.

I have had this problem since going from windows 7 to 10. I have reinstalled drivers and searched the support website for that card. It has to be a driver issue.

Hope this helps for the short term.

Hey.

Thanks for the response. Good to know it's not just me! I've tried what you've suggested and it hasn't changed anything for me, but I haven't had the issue yet of losing sound when rebooting.

Looking at the reviews of similar cards it looks like a lot have windows 10 issues, which is a shame. I'll monitor it for now and will hopefully get a better sound card at some point! Or a better driver
