Have had a cyberpower fangbook hx6-100 gaming laptop for about 4 months. This morning it shut off and will not come back on. Tested another compatible power supply, and it will still not turn on. No lights turn on when plugged in. The battery is not removable but has a switch on the back to turn it on and off. I tried the hard reset by turning the switch off and holding the power button down for 30 seconds before plugging back in. This did not work. Am I right to think it may be the motherboard? This is the very first time it ever shut down like this. I may have to send it back to the company for repair, but from what I hear the process could take 6+ weeks. Any troubleshooting suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

Since you already did a hard reset and did not work, try to re-seat the RAM meaning remove the RAM off the laptop for couple of seconds then put it back in then try to power on the PC again. Worse case scenario is you really have to send it back for repair if it's still under the warranty.

Sent it in for RMA: The motherboard needed to be replaced. Laptop turns on now, but now the keyboard doesn't light up and is cracked at a corner..which wasn't there before. Also the dvd drive needs to be reseated once again. I always thought people raging about cyberpowerpc were either super grumpy or exaggerating. Super unprofessional IMO when I waited 6 weeks for repair, for it to be sent back with different issues. They probably will want me to pay to send it out again for another 6 weeks to fix this one...but I'd rather just take it locally or DIY at this point :/ Putting money aside for something new.
