Still could have been a hacker that was using his network. Not saying he is not guilty, just another option. But to other people saying "why the FBI when they have better things to do". They are probably the only ones that can do it. And, the rich control the government. The rich are the ones getting "ripped off" and they get the morons elected that make the rules. Its not conspiracy, its fact.

@Jalek - I've been to at least 6-7 movies in the past 6 months in the theaters....haven't seen a single person wandering around with a flashlight looking for people recording.

As far as the rest of you tards out there screaming that this is a waste of money, waste of the FBIs resources, etc...just remember this: if people didn't pirate stuff, organizations like the MPAA wouldn't exist. Do people are doing all this to themselves.

Good point. You're obviously a genius with such a well thought out rebuttal.

This would be great if they find no evidence. It would be even better if the guy pointing the finger is the culprit (Larry Hahn). Would be a great movie about illegally sharing movies.

[citation][nom]memadmax[/nom]Well, it's refreshing to see that the MPAA is finally going after the source of the problem instead of 12 year old girls, single moms, and college kids downloading stupid movies....[/citation]

Totally agree, tired of seeing families destroyed from the lawsuits.

They still do, its just done through shell companies and law firms trying to push lawsuits that contain 20k plaintiffs. Don't believe it for a second that the "lawsuit as a business plan" groups have decided to act in some less asshat way.

So why do we have a federal agency working as a for-hire mobster for private business exactly? If I come to FBI and tell them that MPAA stole my home made video and is sharing it will they bust down their doors an search their servers? Yeah I didn't think so...searches on pure speculation in order to hope to find something is unethical, but then again I guess you can't expect anything better form one of the most unethical and dirty organizations in US.

The watermarked copies are not distributed in a secure manner. Anyone along the shipping chain ( even in the post office ) would easily rip a dvd on their lunch break.

So who is the tard, the person that think the not limitless resources of the FBI should used to boost the income of a corporation OR actually save peoples lives from murderers or put rapists behind the bars? Some peoples moral compass just seem to be so misaligned their beyond repair!

Wired reports that the FBI raided DeSoto’s home following a tipoff from the MPAA’s director of content protection, Larry Hahn. Hahn is said to have informed that FBI that the King’s Speech, Rabbit Hole, 127 Hours, The Fighter and Black Swan were uploaded to the Pirate Bay.
ha should find out where larry lives and hack or break into his net and upload transformers 3 from his house and turn him in to the FBI on an anon tip line from a pay phone in the middle of no where.
this guy is an idiot every single version of these films are handled by a minimum of 23 people.
this isn't 'CLUE' where the maid did it with the laptop in the library ( but it could be, you never know). maybe the pool boy copied the dvd and uploaded it else where or how about his neighbor kids accessed his network and ripped it from his machine or remotely uploaded it via his unguarded net work and unsecured computer. i'm going to laugh if this was a hackintosh.
another case of presumed guilt before innocence if no subpeona records were checked of his internet use from his provider at home and where he works for upload information.

i would more likely suspect the people who made his watermarked version or the delivery guy who gave it to him or the person who burned it to digital media. wouldn't take nothing to be an obsessive fan and intercept this in 20 minutes or less and have a copy on your own portable laptop in a delivery vehicle or at the stuiod where it was made and put onto a usb stick or sd card.
