Think about how many people actually use GMail. 3000 is a drop in the bucket.

It's not that big of a stretch to think that at peak levels, 3000 users did something that would warrant an FBI investigation. They're not inquiring about so many people that it's "frightening and invasive." FUD needs to die down.

Seem to remember China wanted A LOT mor information...

Apart from that, though, is there a warrant involved anywhere in this? If there is, fine, no difference to other surveillance. If not, that's where it gets "frightening and invasive."
