The Super Nintendo is an important system for a LOT of reasons:
Scaling, Rotation, increased color palate.. and it's also the ONLY
place you can find FINAL FIGHT 2 & 3 -- the followups to the enormously
popular arcade game, Final Fight.

Do you agree that Final Fight 2 and 3 could have been released as
stand-alone ARCADE games? Were either of these two originally developed
for the arcade?

Thanks.

For pretty much the same reasons that Cacom made Super Daimakaimura
(Super Ghouls and Ghosts) for the SFamicom, they also chose to release
a few sequels to Final Fight.

I'm highly doubting that they were intended to be coinops. Capcom
never really became coinop sequel crazy ad infinatum until the Street
Fighter II era. Coinops usually had one sequel (eg 1941 and 1943, it
wasnt until the 90's that the other 194x games appeared) and they
sometimes made console exclusive sequels to generate more sales in that
market. Bionic Commando is probably the best example of one of their
console excusive sequels to a coinop.
