Find Lost Media that Was in Your iTunes Library

Sometimes people have trouble finding files in their iTunes library if the file hasn't been accessed for a long time. iOS users can search for the lost media by connecting their device with a desktop computer or laptop.

After connecting, when you start iTunes application, and type the name of the lost file in the search field, the search result displays all the files that have the searched characters in their names.

Once you find the lost media, it is recommended to save the file in a playlist or at some other location from where you can get access to it easily if you ever need the file again.

Here is how you can find the lost media in your iTunes library:

■Log on to your Windows PC.
■Locate and double-click the iTunes icon to launch the application.
■On the iTunes interface, click the Edit menu from the menu bar at the top-left corner
■From the displayed list, click Preferences.



■From the General Preferences box, go to the Advanced tab. Note that the name of the box changes from General Preferences to Advanced Preferences as soon as the Advanced tab is selected.
■Under the Advanced window, follow the path that is displayed under the iTunes Media folder location box to go to the iTunes Media folder.



■Once the iTunes Media folder is located, double-click the folder.



Note: You may need to double-click the iTunes Music folder if the iTunes Media folder is empty.
■Under the iTunes Media section, locate and double-click the desired folder that contains the media type you want to find.



■On the next window, locate the desired media from the list that you wanted to find.
