First gaming laptop; how’d I do ?

Hi all,

So I bought my first gaming laptop this past weekend after all the sales. I built my own rigs for years and now decided a laptop might be the best choice for me now. I wanted to be as close to $1000 as possible and got an MSi 62GLVR for $1199. Here’s the specs:
Intel Core i7 7700HQ 2.8ghz
NVIDIA GeForce 1060 6GB
16GB DDR4
1 TB HDD
256 GB SSD
15.6” screen NTSC

I was a bit skeptical at first due to the price but it’s real fast. Only thing I wish is if I had G SYNC and a screen that’s capable of 120 hz. The ASUS ROG STRIZ was on sale for $1500 and was 15.6” with a 1070 as well as a G SYNC screen. Should I have gone with that or is that overkill? Thanks all.

If you need confirmation that laptop is good for the price, yes, that's a normal price for the specs, and the specs are fine for a mid range gaming system that will last a few years.
