Fix Galaxy s3 Unresponsive Touchscreen

Only problems I have is unresponsive TouchScreen and I can't add songs to my phone when I plug in cord to computer. Also I think delayed text messages but that might have been because I just turned on phone after 2 days.

What I Can Do
>I press power button and see my opening screen
>I can receive texts and I have wifi, phone charges alright

What I Have Tried
> Turning Phone On/Off
> Removed Battery for 2 days
> Rice Bag Trick (I am skeptical of this but it worked once)

I have had the phone for maybe 11 months now and this is the third time this has happened to me, first time it got wet and I tried rice bag trick and it worked like a charm. Second time it stopped working but shorty after it worked fine and a month or two later I was using it last friday, I remember texting in the morning and later in the day it just stopped working pretty much for good.


I have read other people have this same problem and that replacing the TouchScreen and/or Digitizer is the way to go. Some have fixed with a factory reset so I have no idea. I rather not reset everything like contacts and apps. How can I back everything up, in case I might have to?

Contact your provider. If the device is still under warranty they are legally obligated to provide you with a working replacement.
