the panel itself is sealed so it is unlikely to have an issue.... although possibly an issue with any layers on the front (ie. protective plastic sheet, anti-reflection, etc) which may or may not be separate pieces. Basically, you have nothing to lose... people are telling you "its a lost cause" but if you have any DIY in yourself, chances of a "salvage" are probably quite good assuming it wasn't in the water for "years"... pull the boards, get a sprayer and some mixture of alcohol and water and rinse them down well, blow dry them. All the connectors will have to be cleaned / inspected. You have probably lost any speakers that might have been "inboard" on the set.... so disconnect them. Anyways, without taking the back off and looking, no one knows how bad it actually is. Of course, if you have insurance that covers things, then that's your best bet ... but I suspect that is not the case. Good luck. I suspect you will be successful if the water wasn't too "lumpy"... 🙂 Of course, your time is free... a repair centers time is $$$ which adds up fast so it is unlikely to be an option.
