formuler z7+ audio set up

I have a formuler z7+ box and have the hdmi cable from box to media port and digital optical audio plugged into my denon receiver. I can only get sound from the tv itself, nothing comes out of my speakers. How do I get surround sound?

Check the audio set up menu of the z7 box. You may need to turn the optical audio output on.
Check the Denon receiver to make sure that you have assigned the connection to an input name in the set up menu.
