This is because you need something that can fire continuously when an enemy is close and personal and a Burst Assault Rifle cannot do that. So if you see an enemy closing in, try to stop him with your Burst Assault Rifle but as soon as he comes near you, it is best if you switch to another weapon with a higher fire rate.
