Dusty Divot, formerly known as Dusty Depot is one of the new additions to the map. The area is a huge crater with a research center in the middle. It is located near the center of the map and close to the Retail Row and Loot Lake. If you want to dominate in this area, make sure to keep the following things in mind:
Perfect for Long Range:
Dusty Divot is an open area as it is a giant crater, so it is great for snipping and long range combat. Make sure you have a long ranged weapon if you are planning to enter this area. This is because the area is very open and if you have short range gun and your enemy has a long ranged weapon. He will kill you easily unless you get lucky in running away.
Consume The Hop Rocks:
The meteor that hit the area has brought some mysterious purple objects with it. The objects are called as Hop Rocks and are scattered across the crater. If you consume one hop rock, you will get a jump boost meaning you will be able to jump higher as you will be in a low gravity effect. Also, you will not take damage from the fall while you are in this lower gravity effect. The effect of hop rock lasts only 30 seconds, so create your strategy accordingly.
Don’t Jump Too Much:
Another thing that you need to keep in mind is not to jump too much in this area. This is because if you jump you will create a loud noise that can be heard by other players and will ultimately give you’re your location. The reason may be because of the hollowness of this area or maybe something else. But make sure to only jump when necessary and use the hop rocks that give you the boost of jumping, only when you need them, otherwise rely on walking.
Expect Company:
Due to the newness of this area, many players will come here just to discover it or maybe because of the hop rocks. So if you are going there as well, make sure to be prepared to face the company. Just go straight to the research center if you don’t have weapons to open some chests and gear up. Also, avoid wandering in the open due to the presence of other players in the area.
Use Research Center for Cover:
The whole Dusty Divot has just the research center that you can use to get cover or to engage with other players properly. This is because the area around the research center is completely open and you risk of getting shot from above as the crater is wide open and people from the edges above can shoot you easily. So make sure, if you are engaging with someone, take your fight to the research center as it will provide you cover and also contains come chests that you can open for some loot.
