I have a bluetooth symbol on my dell inspiron 9300 how do i turn it on I can't find it anywhere

It may be turned on and off in the bios. Not a Dell user but check you owners documents and go into the bios to see if there is a device switch there. Hope this helps.

Not all laptops that have that icon actually have the bluetooth hardware installed. The software for bluetooth seems to run no matter what.

Does your laptop show bluetooth as part of the options when you ordered it?

There maybe a key for Bluetooth in laptop. Search in peripheral or in keyboard upper side. e.g. F12 key for HP.
