Free advise for tv repair

I have a Fiher turntable Mod MT-856, but I don't have the amp that furnishes it the 16 volt a.c. power that is required for operation. I have a 16 volt a.c. adapter. Will this work? I didn't want to use it without knowing for sure whether it might damage turntable.

You have to supply the correct voltage and current, and the connector must be correct.
We would have no way to determine that from the information supplied.
