My Acer Aspire 5732z wont read pc games or movies, what can I do?

Replace the DVD drive if it doesn't work.
A new DVD drive is going to cost you a bit of spare change.

Another think to check.
Any chance you have a bad malware infection? I've heard of rootkit/trojan infections that can disable hardware to make removing the malware more difficult.

Can you boot up in Safe Mode?
Can you see the optical drive in Device Manager?
